Filbert Grove Cooperative

A resident-owned community

Welcome Home!

Filbert Grove Cooperative is a 55 and older, resident-owned manufactured home community in Springfield,Ore. Our community has 79 manufactured home spaces and two RV spaces. Springfield is a quaint northwestern Oregon town with a variety of local cuisine to choose from, lots of arts and culture and national as well as locally owned shops. Our cooperative is conveniently located just five minutes from Eugene and two blocks from Riverbend Hospital. This ideal setting allows for easy access to Highway 569 and Interstate 5. We are about an hour from Salem, an hour to the coast and two hours to Portland.

Public transportation is within walking distance of the park. Willamalane Park is less than four miles away, and the McKenzie River is just five miles from our community. We are centrally located for easy access to all that Springfield and the surrounding cities have to offer.

Filbert Grove Cooperative is owned by the Community Members who live here – we are a resident-owned community (ROC).

We own it

The Cooperative Member control the rent and make the rules. On July 15, 2021, the residents with help from CASA of Oregon and ROC USA, purchased the Patrician MHP and made it their own. They voted to change the name to Filbert Grove Cooperative because the land was once a filbert grove. Now, a democratically elected Board of Directors manages the business of running Filbert Grove Cooperative. Every Member household in the community has a say in who sits on the Board, how we spend our money, the annual budget, and whether we make changes to the rent.

We’re also part of a national network of nearly 300 ROCs just like us. That membership provides us with access to expert coaching on how to run our ROC, leadership development and training, communication with dozens of community leaders who face many of the same issues we do, and more. Life in Filbert Grove Cooperative is truly different than in a commercially owned community – we invite you to find out firsthand how that difference makes living here so much better.
